In 1963, Thomas Malave, Sr. founded Bartlett Dairy, a door-to-door home-delivery and retail milk route in Queens, New York. Although the company has grown well beyond the founder's expectations, it is still a family business managed by Mr. Malave's five sons.

Michael, Kenny, Jimmy, Donald and Tom all gained invaluable experience working for other dairies before coming together to carry on and expand the dairy distribution business started by their father. In twelve years, the Malave brothers have diversified Bartlett Dairy's product line and built it into a company that grosses $50 million annually. Bartlett continues to grow at a rate of 25 percent a year.

Serving the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut from Montauk, Long Island to New Haven, Bartlett specializes in food service accounts such as schools, hospitals, hotels and restaurants in addition to supermarkets, mom-and-pop groceries and other retail accounts.

 

Who We Are - The Finest Milk Available

Milk and milk products are still our primary business. Most of the raw milk used by Bartlett Dairy comes from dairy farms in Pennsylvania and the Catskill region of New York and contain no antibiotics or synthetic hormones (rBST). Parmalat, one of the most trusted milk processors and packagers in the business, supplies Bartlett's milk products. Bartlett is one of the largest fresh milk distributors in the Northeast.

Other distributors trailer milk out to other depots before it is moved to retailers. That translates to Bartlett's milk often being two days fresher than that of it's competitors.
